What happens when you put a 5-year-old and an 85-year-old in the same room? Magic.
Our “Wisdom Meets Wonder” program brings local schoolchildren to our foundation for reading sessions and art projects. The results have been nothing short of miraculous. The children gain a “grandparent figure” who listens without judgment, and our seniors find a renewed sense of energy and playfulness.
The Benefits are Two-Fold:
- For the Youth: They learn patience, empathy, and history that isn’t found in a textbook.
- For the Seniors: Interaction with children is linked to improved memory recall and decreased symptoms of depression.
We don’t just live in different eras; we live in the same world. It’s time we started acting like neighbors again. Join us for our next “Intergenerational Saturday” and witness the bridge being built.
